User Testing
These are the results of the user testing I did. I chose to ask the users a series of questions before and after they used the tutorial site. This is the results of the testing done before the users used the site.

First I needed to determine the amount of time the user spends online. The more time they spend online the more likely they are for repeat visits of one site.

I assumed that most users to my tutorial site would have been to other sites. This information proves it.

I chose to ask the users which other sites they visit to determine the competition for my site.

I assumed that the users would learn best by reading on the internet and being in classes. But based on the data I received it seems that my calculations were off a bit. I may need to invest more time in videos.

I set knowing Javascript and HTML as a pre-requisite for this tutorial site. This proves that the users who come to the site are comfortable with it.

An intermediate knowledge of HTML is to be expected of young designers and developers. Having a strong grasp on the basics of HTML is important when moving forward.

I assumed most users would have a beginners knowledge on PHP. Usually these are the people most eager to learn and would find this tutorial site most useful.
This is the analysis of the post questions.

I wanted to figure out what tutorials my testers had used. Based on this information we can assume that th shorter tutorials are more popular than the longer multipart ones.

The fact that all 3 users downloaded the source code is a good indication that people want take aways from the site. This could be used later as a branding opportunity.

The fact that 2 out of 3 people set up the server at home is a good indicator for people comprehending and actually following through on the tutorials.

It would seem, based on this information, that users are much more interested in videos than anything else. Including more short tutorials and cheat sheets would be good.
Final Analysis
Based on this information from my user testing, it would seem that people are more interested in short concise bite sized tutorials. The inclusion of more video tutorials did take me off guard initially, I assumed there wouldn't be much interest in them, but I've been proven wrong. Again the fact that people are willing to download extra take aways from the site, like cheat sheets and source code is a good indicator that I could make things like this to help brand the site.
